Pro Teaches n00bs: Lesson 15: Usagi Yojimbo/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

On the new lesson of Pro Teaches n00bs, i finally have more than just 1 student as Bianca & Raymond both return! And fittingly enough we're going over a crossover as we disgust the TMNT/Usagi Yojimbo crossovers collection that contains all of their comic meet ups!

Usagi Yojimbo, created by Stan Sakai, chronicles the adventures of Miyamoto Usagi, once a loyal retainer of lord Mifune who, after his whole clan was vanquished in battle, walks the earth as a Rōnin, meeting interesting people, facing mythological monsters and solving the odd murder mystery too.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Need no introduction so I'll just sum it up! Created by Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird, what started as a done in one comic exploded in a huge franchise that continues to this day! 4 Turtles taught in the way of the Ninja by a Talking rat named Splinter!

During the early day of the Mirage comics (when they all wore red, no multi colored bandanas) the two creators were huge fans of Stan Sakai's Usagi and he, in turn, was a huge fan of the Turtles! So, naturally, cause Ninja's and Samurai are natural enemies, and both were amphomorphic animals, they should meet up!

The first three were just little short stories of Usagi having run ins with Leonardo. Eventually a three issue arc had him and the rest of the turltes brought to Usagi's world to help! Then finally there's a crossover that is canon for Usagi, but features the IDW Turtles (They do acknowledge they're different ones)
