The Croatia national squad arrived in Zagreb to a hero's welcome on Sunday after overcoming Morocco 2-1 to seal third place in the 2022 World Cup.

Tens of thousands of fans lined the streets of the Croatian capital and crammed into Ban Jelacic Square to show their appreciation and party into the night.

The players were introduced one by one on to the stage to celebrate their success.

It was a particularly poignant moment for 37-year-old captain Luka Modric who has confirmed that Qatar was his final World Cup appearance, although he has no immediate plans to retire from international football.
