“The Battle of that Great Day of God Almighty
21st in our series the Prophet Zephaniah

I. Waiting for the Lord - Zephaniah 3:8
* A. The timing of the events of history are in the Lord’s hands
* 1. Looking at history through the lens of God’s Word enables us to see that God governs in the affairs of men
* 2. God has administered His justice to the nations over the course of time - Zephaniah 3:6 
* B. God calls us to patience with where we are in the unfolding of His plans, trusting Him for His perfect timing
* 1. We should be confident that HIs justice will be done
* 2. Experience godliness with contentment - 1 Timothy 6:6

II. The Day is coming when God will rise up in Judgment - Zephaniah 3:8
* A. The wealth of all nations will be plundered by God’s judgment 
* B. God will gather all nations together for His final judgment upon them in a cataclysmic battle with all the armies of the world
* 1. The location for this judgment is already determined - Joel 3:2, 12-14
* a. The relationship of the battle to valley called Armageddon - Revelation 16:13-18 
* b. King Josiah’s life lost in the battle fought in that same valley - 2 Kings 23:29-30
* 2. The timing is set for the Second Advent of Jesus Christ
* a. Touch down on Mount of Olives - Zechariah 14:1-4 
* b. Christ’s Ascension was from there - Acts 1:9-12
* c. The carnage is extensive - Revelation 14:20
* d. The victorious warrior is Jesus, and the birds are called to the feast - Revelation 19:11-21
* 3. Jesus Christ is victorious and will rule over all the earth for 1000 years - Revelation 20:4
