The Purple Ball (USSR, Gorky Studio, 1987)

Alice Selezneva with her father and the captain of the ship Zeleny go into space to meet with the ship of the space archaeologist Gromozeka. But at the rendezvous point they find a dead spaceship "Black Wanderer", which conquered many planets in the distant past. The heroes learn that many years ago, the "Black Wanderer" left a purple ball on Earth — a time bomb. The estimated moment of the explosion of the ball is the end of the XXI century of the Earth time.

This is a Soviet Gorky Studio production from 1987 that tingled the imagination of many a kid of that time, and looked hopefully into the future, seeking to destroy the "Purple Ball" of hatred.
