Treating Gender Dysphoria the right way - video from March 19, 2019

This video outlines my watchful waiting approach to treating Gender Dysphoria in adolescents. I did this video as the Affirmation Therapy malpractice approach was starting to contaminate our profession, and many therapists jumped on that bandwagon. State legislatures passed ill-conceived conversion therapy laws that included good exploratory therapy in the list of treatments that were illegal. Each of these laws should be repealed now that we understand the damage we have done to children by hamstringing therapists from doing what is necessary to help them. Thousands of children have been badly harmed because of these laws, and because ideologically-driven and profit-chasing leaders in our profession pushed harmful therapies. It is time to admit the mistake and unwind the clock before more lives are ruined.
