Senate passes stopgap bill to avert shutdown at end of the week

The Senate passed a stopgap bill Thursday night in time to stop a government shutdown at the end of the week. The measure passed on a 71 to 19 vote and it can now go to President Biden to be signed into law. It will extend funding for just one more week.
