Yes, of course, Donald Trump can win in 2024

When I meet people and they find out I am a political reporter, they inevitably – and immediately – ask some version of this question: “Is he going to run again? And can he win?”

The “he” there – just in case you’ve spent the last six years on another planet – is Donald Trump.

And the answers to those questions are “probably yes” and “definitely.” As in, yes, Trump is probably going to run for president again in 2024. And, yes, he would have a very real chance of winning.

Let’s take the second half of that question first. A new Wall Street Journal poll shows Trump and President Joe Biden each at 45% among registered voters in a hypothetical 2024 matchup, results that are largely unchanged since the last time WSJ asked the question in November.

The simple fact is that if the 2020 presidential race was re-run today, it would effectively be a pure toss up.

Former President Donald Trump did not attack the Constitution of the United States of America — despite what the establishment media is saying.

In the wake of the release of the “Twitter Files” that show that Big Tech conspired with leftists to sway to 2020 election and discredit the Hunter laptop story, critics accused Donald Trump of saying that the U.S. Constitution should be “terminated.”

While Trump’s post was ham-handed and poorly written, in fact he did not come straight out and suggest that the law of the land be thrown in the circular file and forgotten as his critics have charged.

Nigeria to cap ATM withdrawals at $45 a day in push for cashless society

Nigeria’s push for a cashless society is taking another step as Africa’s most populous country will soon limit the amount of money citizens can withdraw each day.

Beginning Jan. 9, the Central Bank of Nigeria will cap withdrawals from ATMs, bank and cash-back purchases at 20,000 naira, or $45 daily, according to the Associated Press. ATMs will no longer dispense the nation’s 1,000 naira ($2.25) and 500 naira ($1.10) when the policy takes effect.

Further, weekly withdrawals will be capped at 100,000 naira ($225) for individuals and 500,000 naira ($1,124) for corporations. Those who want to take out more money will have to pay a processing fee.

Tunde Ajileye, a partner at the Lagos–based SBM Intelligence firm, told the AP that this policy will likely have the opposite effect it intends.
