This footage shows cops arresting a male suspect who stole a car and crashed into two vehicles that were blocking his exit as he tried to flee.

The incident, which reportedly took place in the city of Atlanta, in the US state of Georgia on 18th November, was caught on body-worn footage which the police released on 12th December.

Newsflash obtained the footage from the Atlanta Police Department (APD), along with a statement that said: "Zone 3 Officers were actively searching for a stolen Ford F-150 in the Mechanicsville neighbourhood."

Officers soon discovered the stolen Ford at a local petrol station with the suspect, later identified as Calvin Bailey, 29, sitting behind the wheel.

As soon as Bailey was approached by officers, he reversed the stolen car and struck one of the patrol vehicles, then drove forwards and hit another as he attempted to flee.

He revved the engine while apparently looking for a space to drive through and escape the crowded station, but gave up pretty quickly when officers took their guns out and surrounded him.

Bailey was removed from the stolen Ford and was promptly arrested for Theft by Receiving, Fleeing and Eluding, Hit and Run, and various traffic violations, the APD said.
