SANTA'S LITTLE HELPER: Adorable Moment Excited Police K9 Dog 'Helps' To Shovel Snow

This is the adorable moment an excited police K9 dog 'helps' to shovel some snow.

The footage shows the clever dog, named Nova, dashing backwards and forwards with the snow shovel in its jaws, and scooping up plenty of the white stuff.

The K9 pooch can then be seen dumping the snow it had just picked up with the shovel while wagging its tail as it prepares to do another run.

The images were obtained from the Essex Police Department in the US state of Vermont along with a statement dated 12th December saying: "K9 Nova is excited to announce her new job with Public Works assisting with shoveling. After they saw this application video they just couldn’t say no."

Netizens were delighted with the video, with one, named as 'Karen Ann Clodgo' saying: "Is she looking for a side gig? Because I'm hiring for my walkway."

And 'John N Carol Davis' said: "Great job. You deserve extra rations."

The US National Weather Service said that 1.7 inches of snow had fallen in the area on Sunday, 11th December.
