China’s hospitals under strain as Covid cases rise

China’s hospital systems have come under increasing pressure following a rise in Covid cases.

It comes after the government’s decision to abandon its zero-Covid strategy following widespread protests in several cities.

The situation has become so bad that doctors and nurses who have contracted the virus are being told to turn-up for work because of staff shortages.
