Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried arrested

FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried has been arrested in the Bahamas after US authorities laid criminal charges.

The arrest comes four weeks after the cryptocurrency exchange FTX filed for bankruptcy.

Sky News Business Reporter Ed Boyd said Mr Bankman-Fried has been “very vocal” and speaking to the media in the weeks since his company declared it was bankrupt on November 11.

“Even on the 30th of November he did a big interview with The New York Times, talking about how he didn’t intend to commit fraud,” Mr Boyd said.

“He’s clearly been trying to get on the front foot in the past four weeks since his company went into bankruptcy.”
