The Bitcoin Halving occurs every four years also known as Bitcoin cycles and seemingly has an effect on Bitcoin price and in effect Altcoin prices.
What is the halving in Bitcoin?
The halving is a scheduled decrease in the number of new coins that are rewarded to miners.
This effect of this is less Bitcoin being created which creates pressure on supply, which in theory leads to an increase in price.
The reward is halved → half inflation → lower available supply → higher demand → higher price → miners' incentive still remains, irrespective of smaller rewards, as the value of Bitcoin is typically boosted in the process.
When is the next bitcoin halving? The next Bitcoin Halving estimated in April of 2024. This estimate is subject to change.
In this video we also look at what happens to the bitcoin price halving. We also look at how this effects Altcoins.
