This footage shows a woman impersonating a human resources employee scamming a checkout girl who was new to the job into handing over USD 1,800.

The footage shows two suspects, a man and a woman, entering the Walmart shop, with the woman then allegedly scamming the checkout girl, who was new to the job, by saying that she needed change and that she was from the human resources department.

Meanwhile, the man, allegedly her accomplice, distracted the other people working the checkouts so that the woman could carry out the con.

The woman, wearing a facemask, can be seen counting the money in CCTV footage of the incident after being handed USD 20 and 100 bills.

The two suspects can then be seen leaving the premises and driving away in separate, white cars.

The scam took place in the city of Semmes, in Mobile County, in the US state of Alabama, with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office saying in a statement dated 8th December and obtained by Newsflash that it was looking for a man and woman who scammed a Walmart cashier in Semmes out of USD 1,800 (GBP 1,465).

The woman reportedly told the new cashier that she was part of the store’s HR department and needed change.

While she carried out the scam, the man kept the other cashiers busy, the sheriff’s office said. Neither of the suspects has been named.

The police said that the woman got away with USD 1,800, leaving the cashier with just USD 125 (GBP 101).

The police said that the woman and man then got into two separate vehicles and left the scene.

They have asked any witnesses to come forward and contact the Mobile County Sheriff's Office.
