Parkinson’s disease is the fastest growing neurologic disease worldwide, but its etiology still remains an enigma. There is a plethora of theories as to the cause of Parkinson’s disease, but no single cause has proven to be the one! Is it that Parkinson’s disease is a multifactorial disease that has a common presentation? From pesticides to herbicides and airborne metals, the etiology of Parkinson’s disease continues to evade discovery. The latest theory is the presence of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the air.
