BMJ article Dec.22 figured waiting lists of over 10 million patients waiting under NHS

BMJ , Lancet & Guardian reported

1. 7.61 million people waiting for their treatment.
2. 2.91 patients are on the 18 weeks wait rule .
3. 420,000 thousands patients are waiting for the last 2 year for their treatment, some patients are waiting for 4-5 years .
4. Median NHS waiting time is 20-24 weeks to be seen by a consultant which is significantly higher that pre Covid time.

Lancet Article on 23/09/2022 has commented that, National lockdown on 23/3/2020 was imposed on U.K. public as a part of the strategy by the SAGE to flatten the curve of the Covid-19 pandemics.

1. unfortunately it resulted in destroying non Covid-19 NHS services but in fact resulted devastating effects on other patients requiring their urgent care especially cancer patients.

2. These patient group included patients with the early & advanced cancers waiting for their investigations & treatments for the better outcome.

3. In U.K. 1250 vital trials and screening programmes were abandoned due to the Covid 19 Inna March 2020 .

4. All cancer screening programmes for most lethal cancers like Breast cancer , Colonic cancer , lungs cancer , Prostate cancer and other blood cancers were abandoned.

5. Referrals of patients from from primary & secondary care centres stopped to 99% .

6. Fear created by mainstream media in early 2020 among public with the narratives Stay homes- Save NHS - Save lives .

7. Hundreds of thousands of elderly patients were transferred untested and in rush to the nursing home who later died due to dehydration, isolation, fear and lack of medical facilities because of propaganda of the social distancing & face masking. No health care was ready to attend them.

8. Patients who were eligible for urgent referrals for their investigations for two weeks wait rule on the basis of ,iron deficiency anaemia, weight loss, change of bowel habits & dysphagia etc were ignored and abandoned .

9. Covid was a priority and a National emergency but other lethal diseases and cancers were terribly ignored and put on back burner by the government, health authority & the regulatory body which is highly condemned abd criminal .
10. My worry as a senior health consultant Surgeon with 35 years of experience is that effects of delayed presentation of symptoms above are not immediate & premature deaths but will result after 4-5 years ,the cancer patients undiagnosed.

Failure of the NHS:

Lancet survey in U.K. confirmed that
1. 50 % of the senior consultants said they are resigning from their job , as they are burned out, dissatisfied from job & salary, poor pension & too much stress.
2. 53000 nurses have resigned due to loss of incentives & morals at work place .
3. 55,000 social care workers have resigned due to poor pay and loss of appreciation.
4. 140,000 doctors are short to run the NHS work . Many senior and honest doctor are suspended or under investigations by the regulator unnecessarily .
Cancers Figures & Deaths:

1. Every year there are 390,000 cancers diagnosed in U.K. out of that at least 170,000 die with full investigation & treatment .
2. But we are unaware & missing the information & the important data from ONS & NHS of the exact number of patients who had died due to their cancers died between March 2020-until December 2022. Public require extremely important data to know about their loved ones who had passed away due to decline of investigation & undiagnosed cancers.

NHS is completely Failure :

1. It’s a shame that NHS has totally failed to provide its medical services required to the patients . According to Lancet , More than 63 % patients are going privately to get their treatment on their money due to prolonged waiting time for years .
2. Many patients borrowed money , used their reserve money, sold their property for their treatment or used the reserve money which they could have used in some other good reason or education of children.
3. Public , patient & health professionals lost their faith on the NHS , medical establishment and the regulator who are not interested in the health of the patients their wellbeing , public safety and upbringing Medical standard which is violation of fundamental human rights , civil liberties and medical ethics and should be fully investigated with accountability .
