We use our property to grow as much of our family’s food as we can. We keep a garden, raise goats for dairy, and finish out a beef steer for the freezer each year. Soon we’ll be bringing our next steer to the farm for summer butchering. Next year, for the first time, we’ll also be raising and harvesting meat chickens (and maybe even a turkey or two). Raising meat chickens is something we’ve wanted to tackle for a while now and we’re very glad the opportunity is finally here.
