The dawn of a new era started with the Saudi Arabia's crown prince welcomed Chinese president Xi Jinping and hailed a "new era" in Beijing's relations with the region. Xi Jinping in return suggested that middle eastern countries should use the Shanghai Petroleum and National Gas Exchange to settle the oil and gas trade in yuan.
