Lionel Messi and Argentina prepare to take on Netherlands in World Cup Quarter-Final

Argentina prepared on Thursday for their World Cup quarter-final meeting with Netherlands, holding a training session at their base in Doha.

Angel di Maria is back in training after missing the 2-1 round of 16 win over Australia with a quadriceps injury, and the winger is expected to be available for Lionel Scaloni.

The head coach's namesake Lionel Messi was on target against the 'Socceroos' - the 'Albiceleste' captain with a third goal of the tournament in what was the 1000th match of his professional career.

Friday's tie will be a repeat of the 1978 World Cup final, which then hosts Argentina won in extra-time, while the teams' only meeting in the last 16 years was in the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup, where Netherlands were knocked out on penalties.
