Joseph McBride is a film historian, biographer, screenwriter, and professor in the School of Cinema at San Francisco State University. His most recent work is Political Truth: The Media and the Assassination of President Kennedy (2021), a study of how the mainstream media have distorted the truth about the assassination since it happened in 1963, in contrast to the genuine investigative work of many independent researchers. This episode McBride joins me again to talk a bit about JFK but also the power of media reporting and film in the long entanglement with politics.
