'The choice was one or none' -Blinken on Griner prisoner swap

After U.S. basketball star Brittney Griner was released in a prisoner swap with Russia, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday (December 8) told reporters, “We continue to work relentlessly to bring Paul Whelan home as well… This was not a choice of which American to bring home. The choice was one or none.”
