Dealing With Obstructed Bowel In A Steer: Part 1 of 7

This is a record of my first experience dealing with obstructed bowel (impacted bowel). My steer, Brahma the Brahman, ate from a pile of mulched trees and it stopped him up. Apparently, this is usually cleared by putting the animal into a head-gate system and literally reaching up into the bowel to clear it. But I didn't have that option. I did, however, have some things on hand and, with guidance from my neighbor, was able to resolve the issue.

I don't, at present, have video software to combine/edit vids, so I'm uploading the little segments in a sequence. I'll link them together below when I get them all uploaded. When I get myself more technically up to speed I'll probably edit it all and re-upload it as a single video. Hopefully though, the information in these vids will be helpful to you as an owner of cattle. I learned a lot throughout the process. Maybe most important: I saved my steer, who is nearly ready for butcher.
