has been groomed agilely

that haunt him constantly.
He’s always on the edge of sanity,
because he destroys
everything that he used to be
in the pursuit for his revenge.

He boiled down
his sense of morality.
He forged his malice
into weaponry.
Unblinking eyes
probe the back of his mind,
but revenge burns deeper
than anything.
He peered into darkness,
and it peered back
granting him the ability
to defeat
the ravenous monsters
he’s always after,
but such a power
cost him everything,
and he still sees red.

He tries to apply meaning to such suffering.
Acting in opposition to the notion of destiny.
From a distance he appears as a mercenary.
A hero who struggling with his own humanity.
