Oni (PS2) Gameplay (RetroTink 2X Pro)

I've never played very far into Oni. I've owned it on the PC for many years, but only bought the PS2 version for My Ultimate PS2 Launch Guide video (That's right, I bought a whole game just to feature it for a short preview in a video). I think the reason I never played very far into it is that it has an incredibly obnoxious forced-training mode at the start of the game.

Every-time I would upgrade my PC, and install Oni on it, I'd get half way through the training mode, and be like, "Nah, I don't want to play this." The PS2 version definitely has framerate issues, and the controls are a little slippery and sluggish as well.

While this game isn't great, if you can make it past that stupid training mode, and deal with some of it's control, and technical issues, you might find some enjoyment out of it. I did find myself enjoying the game for what it was. I could probably suggest 10 better third person shooters on the PS2 off the top of my head, but overall, this is one that more forgiving gamers should look into. It's definitely flawed, but it does have some good ideas, with some bad execution.

Thankfully for Bungie, Oni would very quickly be forgotten just months later when they would bring out that one game, I forget it's name.
