Board certified anatomic/clinical pathologist Dr. Ryan Cole discusses what makes the SARS-CoV-2 virus unique (hint: it's part of the spike protein) and why it's also like the hundreds of other coronaviruses that commonly infect people. “We don’t have coronavirus vaccines for a very simple reason: [coronaviruses] always mutate ahead of our vaccine efforts, and always will. We’re playing whack-a-mole with a virus," he says.

And speaking on the safety of a vaccine that instructs for spike protein, Dr. Cole warns, "which is the most toxic, cell harming, organ harming, body harming portion of this virus? The spike protein."
