LIVE Legal Analysis: Aaron Dean Trial: Day 3

We continue our coverage and analysis of the murder trial of former police officer Aaron Dean, as the court proceeds into day 3. Through yesterday, and well into the State's case in chief, the law and evidence appears to strongly favor the defense.

On October 12, 2019, at 2:30AM then Ft. Worth police officer Aaron Dean responded to a call by a concerned neighbor for a welfare check on a home with the front door left open and the lights on.

While investigating around the outside of the home with a flashlight, Dean observed a person with a gun inside the home, just feet away. Dean ordered the person to drop the gun, then quickly fired a single shot. That single shot killed Atatiana Jefferson, who was in the home babysitting her 8-year-old nephew.

Within two days Dean had been charged with murder, and within four he had resigned his position as a police officer.
