Russia deploys an armoured train to Ukraine to conduct reconnaissance and demining operations

A special train, created by military personnel of the railway troops of the Western Military District (ZVO), is involved in the zone of the special military operation.

The composition has an armored coating, weapons are placed on the platforms, and the latest equipment, shelters for firing and repelling enemy attacks.

The train is intended for technical reconnaissance, demining, as well as the restoration of the railway track and small artificial structures with minor damage.

For safety reasons, the locomotive is located in the middle of the train, otherwise the first blow can disable the locomotive. The tail and head of the special train are mirrored.

Armored capsules are located in the tail and head of the train. Special cars are protected by steel 10, and somewhere 20 millimeters thick, inside they are lined with sandbags. This is a real armored train, armed, as they say, "to the teeth." The personnel of the train have small arms: from a machine gun to a heavy machine gun, they also have an anti-aircraft gun for destroying air and ground targets. The twin 23 mm cannon on the train is the main caliber. There are also sniper positions. Everyone who travels on this train is under reliable protection.

“During the movement, we detect low-flying air targets with the ability to destroy up to 1.5 km, also fortified positions, ground lightly armored vehicles with the ability to destroy up to 2.5 km,” said Vyacheslav, head of the anti-aircraft installation.

Despite its formidable appearance, first of all, the list of the main tasks of the special train includes technical reconnaissance, mine clearance, and, if necessary, the restoration of destroyed road directions. A powerful weapon system allows personnel to operate even in the most difficult conditions.

Also, the task of the special train is to ensure the safety of echelons with various cargoes, personnel and equipment.

“The main task of the special train is to conduct technical reconnaissance of the railway section, escort cargo, restore destroyed sections, tracks and artificial structures ... Reflection during an attack by the DRG - we have personnel for this. The cover platform comes first. Its main task is to take a hit on itself when explosive devices are triggered. It contains materials for the upper structure of the tracks, which allow us to restore the destroyed sections as soon as possible, if we come across such ones,” said Sergey, the head of the special train.

In the zone of the special military operation, the personnel ensure the safety of movement, not only of military echelons. If necessary, a special train of the railway troops of the Western Military District can provide reliable cover for trains with civilians.
