Officers from the Duluth Police Department were dispatched to assist a young deer that had become entangled in a fence. Body camera footage shows Officer Lucas being directed to the doe-eyed critter wedged between bars and shrubs on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard by a neighbor.

WFearful and perplexed, the deer strained to free itself but was unable to squirm away despite its best efforts. Lucas approached the bouncing deer, who groaned in his direction, clear that the deer didn't like being stuck.

Lucas is seen pulling on the barred fence with a gloved hand in the video. The deer launched a strong escape attempt and frolicked toward freedom, hooves to the ground.

"We liberated Bambi," DPD said in a Facebook post. "Even your neighborhood deer requires our assistance from time to time!"
