Did you know how magnificent Pamukkale was formed and where its white color comes from?

When you look at Pamukkale from a distance, it looks like cascading cotton piles, and the word “pamukkale” literally means cotton castles.

As a unique place, Pamukkale draws millions of visitors from all around the world.

The thermal water is thought to have been flowing for 15 thousands years, and its average temperature is 95°F. It includes calcium bicarbonate.

As the water flows, the carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide in the water evaporate, the remaining calcium carbonate precipitates, forming a thin layer of white rock in the places where it flows.
