Mount Apo Sunrise Boulder Face and Summit Hike - Mindanao Philippines

Here are some clips of hiking the Mount Apo summit. Mount Apo is the tallest mountain (10,311 feet) in the Philippines. We started from Tinikaran Campsite around 4am and hiked through the rainforest. There are steaming sulphur vents spread beneath the boulder face. The summit hike is extremely steep and although technical climbing is not required, it was still challenging but very much worth the effort. On the summit you are in or above the clouds, and when it's clear you can see much of Davao del Sur and the glorious Pacific. The cooler, higher elevation is conducive to the growth of colorful plants and flowers that flourish across the mountaintop. If you ever have the opportunity to hike Mount Apo, do it.
