Donbass war

This boy, Tima, from the DPR is a symbol of the Donbass war. He's never experienced peaceful life, being almost exactly as old as the war in Donbass.

Many of those children's fathers and other relatives are fighting. Many have died.

Tima is so very strong and brave, but you can tell that he's deeply traumatized.

First, he's strongly emotionally involved in the war. He is fully absorbed in his "military" gear and the symbols: the Russian flag, the hat with the emblem, the squad name "Zakhar" (this is after the first head of the DPR with the last name Zakharchenko, who was brutally assassinated by the ukronazis). Tima gets annoyed when he's distracted, although he tries not to show it.

You don't see even the tiniest hint of a smile in this child's face. His gestures are abrupt; his face only expresses grave seriousness and concern. As if he was much older than 9.
