The Cash system is an investment method that consisted of identifying the maximum and minimum of a share since, according to this theory, the price would remain moving within these limits. It is a system that is based on following very clear trends, that is, the trader reduces the probability that this trend will turn.

The 3-box system uses mainly two inputs, the boxes and the volume. Boxes are formed when price is locked into a tight range for at least three weeks, i.e. three candlesticks on a weekly chart would give a range. The buy signal occurs when the stock breaks the top of the box on a surge in volume.

In the 3-Box system, the use of the stop loss is very important since there is the possibility of a sudden drop in the share price. In this case, the stop loss must be readjusted urgently to minimize possible losses. An alternative is to work with conditional or related stop loss orders. Regardless of the amplitude that the box may have, a maximum loss that the investor can afford should be set.
