Canada: Federal funding of $10M for harm reduction projects in Indigenous communities – December 2, 2022

Mental Health and Addictions Minister Carolyn Bennett announces in Toronto nearly $10 million in federal funding for 16 projects aimed at helping Indigenous communities across the country reduce harms related to substance use. She is joined by Native Child and Family Services of Toronto representatives Jeffrey Schiffer (executive director) and Melissa Hamonic (director of holistic services). The funding will be provided through Health Canada’s Substance Use and Addictions Program (SUAP).
