Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK) president Natan Obed and Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Marc Miller hold a news conference on Parliament Hill to provide an update on the work of the Inuit-Crown Partnership Committee, which met the previous day in Ottawa. They announce the committee has endorsed principles of co-development between Inuit and the Crown that are intended to be applied to all ongoing and future initiatives that impact Inuit. The principles build on the Inuit Nunangat Policy that was co-developed Inuit and passed by the federal government in April 2022. Obed and Miller respond to questions from reporters about Bill C-29, the legislation to create a national council for reconciliation, and about the alleged serial killer who has been charged with murdering four Indigenous women in Winnipeg.
