We speak to Daniel Botwood, a Ratel 60mm gunner / radio operator that fought in Ops Hooper and later in Ops Displace. As an 18 year old conscript he witnesses major battles around the small Angolan town of Cuito Cuanavale. There were the largest tank battle in Africa since World War Two and one that the South Africans/UNITA won. Daniel also wrote a poetry book about his experiences in the SADF.
