On November 26th, I got word that M404 had a switcher trailing, so I took a ride to Newburgh to watch it pass because I was so bored. I also got word on the same day prior to M404, that legend Phil (Chuck) Peters passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in his sleep. Phil always had a story, and was employed by Conrail for many years after coming out of the military, where he served in the Vietnam War. He was a true staple and good example to the community. As such, a tribute is shown at the end with pictures borrowed from Ulster County Railfans and the collection of Chuck Gardener, close friend of Phil, as well as the Conrail Historical site, and google images. On the 29th, I got word that I162 had a fresh repaint Dash 9 leader, and was making record time, so back to Newburgh it was. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed!
