NATO to become Russia’s target if provides Ukraine with Patriot air defence systems

Last week, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council
Dmitry Medvedev warned NATO against providing Ukraine with Patriot missile systems.

“If, NATO were to supply the Ukrainian fanatics with Patriot systems along with NATO personnel, they would immediately become a legitimate target of our armed forces," Medvedev wrote on the Telegram messaging app on November 29. "The civilised world does not need this organisation. It must repent to humanity and be dissolved as a criminal entity," he wrote in an earlier post, with reference to NATO.

Medvedev’s statement was in response to Nato secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s earlier comments in which he spoke about the possibility of deploying German Patriot batteries to Ukraine.

"We need both increased air defence of our Nato allies in the east, in the Baltic countries, Poland, Romania. But also we need more air defence in Ukraine, that's obvious," Stoltenberg said in an interview with CNN on Friday.
