Hawaii's Mauna Loa volcano, the world's largest active volcano, erupted on Wednesday (November 30), spewing gas, ashes and lava 20-25 meters into the sky (65-82 feet), according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

Rising to a height of more than 4 km (13,100 ft) above sea level, Mauna Loa is the largest active volcano on earth and is located on the south-central part of the island of Hawaii.

The volcano, dormant since 1984, has been erupting for four straight days.
While the eruption has not triggered any evacuations, officials are closely monitoring as the lava approaches the Daniel K. Inouye Highway, also known as Saddle Road, which would greatly affect commuters.
