Reno Police officers have been praised by their chief and the public after dramatic bodycam footage showed them running into a deep ravine to rescue the occupants of a crashed car on Saturday, November 26.

Bodycam footage released by the Reno Police Department shows officers running down a ravine to an overturned car with its horn blaring. Officers manage to open the doors and drag out one passenger, while another follows on foot.

The police department said that the crash had happened near Virginia Street and Talus Way, northwest of Reno.

According to local media, the two occupants of the car were alert and breathing when they were rescued. They were taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The driver has been cited for multiple traffic offenses, the report added.
