Today we explored a little piece of Canyonlands National Park. Canyonlands is Utah's largest national park and is split into three districts by the Green and Colorado Rivers. We visited the Island in The Sky district and drove the Shafer Canyon Trail which is an unpaved backcountry road with multiple switchbacks. Then at the bottom the road splits and if you continue straight it turns into White Rim Rd which you need a permit from the National Park to travel on. We took the road to the left which is Potash Rd. There are a few notable points on this road including Thelma & Louise Point, Goooseneck Overlook and the Potash Ponds which can come in some amazing colors.
