It’s cold, claustrophobic, and terrifying. From below ground level, all these soldiers see is mud and a shattered battlefield. The scenes here resemble the horrors of the First World War, more than a century ago. But, war-time technology has moved on since then. While trenches provide reliable protection from machine guns and sniper fire, they’re no match for the drones which roam the sky.
