Extreme Weather at the Farm

This is just a quick update to let everyone know we’re ok.

It has been 24 hours of heavy rain and with the already wet grounds from months of wet weather, the surrounds have flooded.

The road is so high, the bus cannot get out or in. Usually this is not ever the case. 4WDs cannot get through. SES cannot. People are asking for tinnie boats to save horses. Everyone hasn’t had the time to prepare.

On top of all that, the power is out and no one can get to the problem to fix it.

Luke has spent all day getting the generator to power the outlets we need, water included … our water runs on a pump.

The dogs have watched Luke come and go checking levels and receiving food from neighbours (thank you Jesse). They’ve all wanted to help and follow him on his travels. Those that have wanted to, have had a chilled day by the fire and watching the kids play board games.

Luke is cooking up their dinner now on the BBQ. Then it’ll be inside early tonight warming up by the fire.

We haven’t had any internet so I’m a little behind in my daily postings, but just wanted to say everyone at the farm is ok.

We have the internet connected to the generator this evening so I’ll post a few more videos tonight, including Luke’s own recordings of his day dealing with no power, no staff and flooding.

We hope everyone is ok, we’ve heard it’s really quite devastating in the valleys surrounding the farm. We are very fortunate to be so very high on the hill. But our thoughts are with everyone affected.
