This is the state championship game between the Dayton Pirates and the Regis Rams in Pendleton, OR.

This was originally broadcast on ASCN, the Action Sports Cable Network, which was owned by Paul Allen (who also owned the Trail Blazers at that time).

This game was played in 2002, and featured three future division 1 football players (Dante Rosario, Travis Lulay, Tyler Lulay), future college basketball player Blake Muscardin, future college baseball player Caleb Kearns, some of the best shooters in the state (such as Marcos Vigil), some of the best defenders in the state (such as Jon Hansen and Jeff Cruickshank), and Jon Hildebrandt (SuperHandles).

Dante Rosario went on to play in the NFL as a tide end from 2007 to 2015.

Travis Lulay played in the CFL as a quarterback from 2009 to 2018.

The Regis head coach, Jeff Koenke, led his team to the state title game in 2001 and 2002, and then 3 straight state titles from 2003-2005.

The Dayton head coach, Doug Miles, was the state coach of the year in 2001 and 2002, and then built a winning program at Marshfield High School beginning in the fall of 2002.

Ron Hop, an assistant coach on this Dayton team, became head coach the next year. Since that year, he has led Dayton to 5 state championship games and 3 state titles.

Scott Spink later coached the Dayton girls basketball program to 3 state titles.
