Ludwig van Beethoven, Op.27 No. 2, 1st movement

This new arrangement of the Moonlight Sonata is the first single for my new project: Not for Violin Collection.

A cornerstone of the piano repertoire, composed in 1801, the Moonlight Sonata is Beethoven's most famous sonata and one of the most celebrated musical works ever composed.

Extraordinarily poetic, the 1st movement has an intense emotional and dreamy force complemented by an atmosphere immersed in melancholy. The texture created by the long melodic lines over the deep bass and the broken-chord triplets - which at various points takes the function of melody - create a lamentable character in each melodic phrase.

The Not For Violin Collection embraces the repertoire of the great classical composers, deeply linked to the language of their original instruments, and reimagines them in the light of a new perspective for solo violin and electronic. The challenge is to create a universe where the solo violin and electronic are intertwined in a musical dialogue.

simultaneously with each new release for the Not For Violin Collection the sheet music for solo violin and the electronic in video and audio support are available to purchase.
