Joining the current series of strikes in South Korea are Seoul's subway system workers whose strike on Wednesday is affecting lines 1 to 8 as well as parts of line 9.
Seoul Metro workers started their strike at 6:30 AM on Wednesday as the labor union and the employer couldn't come to an agreement after 8 hours of talks.
Seoul Metro and Seoul City have put in extra workers to make sure the early morning rush hour isn't affected, but during the day, the schedule will be cut by nearly 30 percent.
During the evening rush hour, the operation rate will be around 85 percent compared to a normal weekday.
