Like anything else, intelligence is extremely difficult to quantify. Even though Carles Spearman (1863–1945), a well-known British psychologist, developed the term "general intelligence" or the "g factor," individuals continue to dispute that intelligence can actually be assessed. How do you tell individuals who are street smart and experienced from those who are often better at logic, reading, and test-taking, for instance?
