It illustrates God’s extreme judgement upon his own people in the Valley of Slaughter for their stiff necked mockery and stubborn refusal to listen and obey. The shocking fact is that many current believers are just as guilty today of the very same attitudes and atrocities that incurred such extreme wrath way back in Jeremiah’s day. Sorta makes a thoughtful person squirm just a little, …wouldn’t you say?
