The U.S. Senate passed the so-called Respect for Marriage Act by a vote of 61-36. Prior to the roll call vote, the amendments offered by U.S. Senators Lee, Rubio and Lankford were each voted down. The bill now goes to the U.S. House for their vote since it differs a bit from the version the House previously passed.
