Controversial Twitter and Tesla CEO, and the latest bogeyman for the Left, Elon Musk tweeted out that the people deserve to know about censorship and free speech suppression within social media platform Twitter, and has promised to release the files to back it up.
Musk tweeted:
"The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published on Twitter itself. The public deserves to know what really happened …"
Yesterday, the White House admitted they were watching what was happening at Twitter. When one reporter asks what feels like a very scripted question if the White House was concerned about Twitter becoming a “vector of misinformation” under Musk’s leadership allowing so many banned accounts to return, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated:
"So, this is something that we’re certainly keeping an eye on. Look, we have always been very clear that when it comes to social media platforms, it is their responsibility to make sure that when it comes to misinformation, when it comes to the hate that we’re seeing, that they take action. That they continue to take action.
Again, we’re all keeping a close eye on this. We’re all monitoring what’s currently occurring. We see. We see it with our own eyes what you all are reporting. And just for ourselves what’s happening on Twitter. But again, social media companies have a responsibility to prevent their platforms from being used by any user to incite violence, especially violence directed at individual communities."
Why does Elon Musk and the idea of actual FREE speech terrify the Left so much?
Obviously, Twitter has been a major tool of communication by millions, but particularly many of the loudest voices are from the radical Left. They’d gotten used to a safe little vacuum chamber where differing opinions aren’t allowed to be shared without suppression or repercussions. Elon Musk cut the locks off the doors and let many de-platformed voices return to the platform.
And now Elon Musk has claimed that Apple is threatening to pull the Twitter app from the Apple App Store, which could ultimately be the end of the platform, at least for iPhone users. Musk being Musk of course retorted that he would just create his own phones, too. And I wouldn’t put it past him.
Regardless, I find it very alarming that our government is giving this much time and attention to what Elon Musk is doing at Twitter. Maybe if Elon tweets out that there’s a crisis at our southern border, the White House will finally start to address it.
