3.5 God’s Love and Grace

Calvinism has brought some truths to light, such as God choosing us, as opposed to us choosing God. However, where I depart from Calvinism is on what basis does God make those choices? God does nothing by random, such as randomly chooses people to be saved and others to perish in hell. From a Calvinist perspective, those who were chosen to be saved only have a part in that they can be grateful that they were randomly chosen. In fact, if you just bypass all the theological mumbo jumbo, Calvinism is plainly absurd. God’s choice is not random, but it is based on His foreknowledge. As stated before, that choice is not based on the “goodness” of people, but on the humility of their hearts.

Romans 8:29-30. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
