Doom 32X Gameplay (RetroTink 2X Pro, Composite Video)

The 32X version of Doom was the first version of the original Doom I ever played. I had played Doom 64 before I played this version of Doom, and I thought that Doom 64 was how Doom was until I played this. I know, but I did grow up in a pre-internet world, and if you didn't own a PC and Doom, or have a magazine subscription, you just wouldn't have known much about it. No one I knew growing up ever had a computer, or any copy of Doom (Snes, Jaguar, or Playstation), and we played outside a whole lot more than we played inside. Boomer parents generally didn't want kids inside, using a TV for gaming.

As for the 32X version of Doom, I like this version. I know the music is terrible, but it's grown on me to the point that I kind of like it. It's definitely terrible, and you can shut it off if you so choose. When it comes to the gameplay feel of the game, sure, it's a little choppy, but plays pretty good. It definitely runs better than the Snes version of Doom, and it's got a good feel to it. No circle strafing, but the gunplay is still fun here.

NOTE: I don't know why the reds are so off in this footage. That's just how it displayed with the RetroTink
